As part of ongoing preparations for the establishment of an International Livestock Market and Ultramodern Abattoir, the Gombe State Livestock Productivity and Resilience Support (L-PRES) Project has received the official survey plan for the 41-hectare project site.
Receiving the technical document, the State Project Coordinator, Prof. Usman Bello Abubakar, expressed gratitude to the Acting Surveyor General, Surv. Zakari Isa, and his team for their outstanding work in facilitating the implementation of this ambitious project.
“We sincerely appreciate your commitment and professionalism in producing the site plan. Your contributions are invaluable, and I am confident that history will document your names in gold,” Prof. Abubakar stated.
He further commended Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya for approving the 41-hectare land and for his unwavering support of the L-PRES project.
“All the successes recorded by Gombe L-PRES are credited to His Excellency. He is a leader with foresight and an uncommon passion for development,” he added.
In his remarks, Surv. Zakari Isa, the Acting State Surveyor General, explained that the survey plan provides a detailed topographic map of the site, which will guide the proper execution of the project.
“The plan outlines the relief pattern of the area and integrates the L-PRES master plan for the project. It will serve as a critical tool for engineers during the design phase and will facilitate monitoring and evaluation at every stage of implementation,” he explained.
Surv. Zakari Isa further expressed appreciation to the L-PRES Coordinator for involving them in this landmark initiative, emphasizing that the project is a significant step toward Gombe State’s economic transformation.
“We are honored to be part of this project that will not only boost the livestock sector but also contribute significantly to the overall development of Gombe State,” he noted.
Gombe L-PRES has already completed the bidding process for the Ultramodern Abattoir and is now finalizing the necessary procedures for the official award of the contract.
