Kaltungo LGA Veterinary Clinic to Wear a New Look.

Kaltungo Local Government Veterinary Clinic will undergo total renovation and construction of additional facilities in line with Gombe State Government plan to upgrade existing veterinary clinics towards the full implementation of livestock reform program.
 
Handing over the project site to Engineer Mubarak Ahmed of Aurora Space Limited, the contractor that will handle the project, the L-PRES Project Coordinator Prof. U.B. Abubakar who was represented at the event by the Project Engineer Sameer Shehu said the exercise will include renovation of the entire building comprising of staff offices, construction of large and small ruminants room, a toilet facility, rabies room and building of a perimeter fencing wall.
 
Prof Abubakar said the move to upgrade community based veterinary clinics is to prepare them towards providing accessible livestock healthcare services ahead of the planned establishment of Gombe Ultra Modern Abbatoir and International Livestock Market and tannery in the state next year.
 
He highlighted that renovation of livestock and live birds markets have reached advanced stage across the state while solar powered boreholes with drinking troughs have been provided in most livestock farming communities in the state.
 
Before the handing over exercise, the L-PRES team had earlier visited the local government Secretariat and also paid a courtesy call on the village head of Baganje Mallam Musa Galadima as apart of efforts to engage stakeholders and community leaders in the process of the project implementation.
 
Receiving the team at Kaltungo local Government secretariat on behalf of Chairman, the Secretary to the Local Government Mr. Andrew Aaron Labte expressed appreciation to Gombe State Government and L-PRES project for citing the intervention in their community and assured the team of their full support at all times.
 
The secretary further requested the project to consider the inclusion of livestock farmers at Ture and Kamo communities in their interventions.
Speaking at his palace the village head of Baganje Malam Musa Galadima commended the state Governor Alhaji Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya for his determination to revamp the livestock sector and assured the team and the contractor of his support and that of his community to ensure the success of the project in the area.
 
In his remarks, the contractor Engineer Mubarak Ahmed assured the community of his readiness to give them a befitting project that will stand the test of time and solicited for their cooperation and support.
 
The event was witnessed by the Area Veterinary Officer to the Local Government Dr. Timothy Malle, Mr. Bello Joel the community livestock officer to the Local Government and staff of the clinic.
