Gombe L-PRES Project Unveils More Interventions To Support Livestock Markets.
As State Coordinator Visits Identified Project Sites

Gombe State Government under L-PRES Project has commenced the upgrade of livestock and livebirds markets in Funakaye and Kwami local government areas of the state.
The State Coordinator Gombe L-PRES Project Professor Usman Bello Abubakar said the objective of the exercise is to improve the operational capacity of livestock markets in the state by providing them with basic facilities in conformity with modern livestock business practices.
He was accompanied to the project sites in Bajoga by the council Secretary Abubakar Saidu and other officials to witness the handing over of projects to the contractor Alhaji Kawu Jitu Toungo.
The team led by the Coordinator inspected the structures and sites identified for the intervention which included construction of two new market stalls and renovation of the dilapidated one.
Construction of three gates, renovation of six toilet facilities, Veterinary office. solar powered borehole, a loading bay and an administrative office among others.
Similarly, the Bajoga livebirds market will also have a new market stall and a toilet, while at Kurugu livebirds market a stall will be constructed to provide shelter for the beneficiaries, in addition to the repairs of their solar powered borehole and construction of a toilet facility.
Responding on behalf of Local Government chairman, his Deputy Mallam Dahiru expressed appreciation to the L-PRES Project for the intervention and support.
He commended the State Governor Alhaji Muhammad Inuwa Yahaya for his numerous projects in Kwami Local Government and pledged their continued support to the policies and programs of his administration.
