The Gombe State Government, under the leadership of Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, CON, has awarded a contract for the water reticulation of the Gombe Agro-Livestock Development Zone as part of efforts to provide critical infrastructure for the state's flagship livestock and agribusiness investment hub.<\/div><\/div>
The project, which is aimed at ensuring adequate and sustainable water supply for livestock, processing facilities, and other commercial activities within the zone, was formally handed over to Jidadu Ventures Limited by the State Project Coordinator of the Livestock Productivity and Resilience Support (L-PRES) Project, Professor Usman Bello Abubakar<\/a><\/span>.<\/div><\/div>
Speaking during the contract handover ceremony, Professor Abubakar described the project as a critical component of the Agro-Livestock Development Zone, noting that reliable water supply is essential to support the large volume of livestock and industrial activities expected within the facility.<\/div><\/div>
He explained that the initiative forms part of Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya's broader vision to establish a world-class agro-livestock industrial ecosystem capable of driving economic growth, attracting investment, creating jobs, and transforming Gombe into a leading livestock hub in Nigeria.<\/div><\/div>
According to him, the Agro-Livestock Development Zone represents one of the most ambitious livestock development projects in Northern Nigeria and is designed to provide the infrastructure required for modern livestock production, processing, marketing, and export.<\/div><\/div>
Professor Abubakar urged the contractor to ensure quality execution of the project, stressing that the present administration places a premium on quality, durability, and value for money.<\/div><\/div>
He also charged the consulting firm supervising the project to maintain strict oversight throughout the implementation period to ensure full compliance with approved specifications and timelines.<\/div><\/div>
In their separate remarks, the Permanent Secretaries of the Ministries of Environment, Water & Forest Resources, and Agriculture, Animal Husbandry and Cooperatives, Alhaji Mohammed Bello Kumo and Engr. Ahmad Guli, commended Governor Inuwa Yahaya for sustaining strategic investments in agriculture and livestock development despite competing demands on government resources.<\/div><\/div>
They expressed confidence that the project would be completed on schedule and contribute significantly to the successful operation of the Agro-Livestock Development Zone.<\/div><\/div>
Responding on behalf of the contractor, Jidadu Ventures Limited, Engineer Abubakar Barambu assured the state government of quality workmanship and timely delivery, pledging to complete the project within the stipulated timeframe.<\/div><\/div>
Similarly, Bello Kulani of Global Ecological Consult assured stakeholders of effective supervision and monitoring to guarantee that the project meets all required engineering and quality standards.<\/div><\/div>
The project is among several critical infrastructure components being developed within the 184-hectare Agro-Livestock Development Zone, which also includes an Ultramodern Abattoir, International Livestock Market, Poultry Production Hub, Beef Fattening Hub, Tannery and Leather Processing Factory, International Grains Market, Timber Market, and an Inland Dry Port.<\/div><\/div>
The water reticulation project forms part of the \u20a624 billion contract awarded to Jidadu Ventures Limited in February 2026 for the rehabilitation, upgrade, and expansion of the Malam Inna Water Supply Scheme and associated works.<\/div><\/div>
The contract also covers the extension of potable water infrastructure to the Agro-Livestock Development Zone and surrounding communities, with completion scheduled within an 18-month period.<\/div><\/div>When completed, the zone is expected to serve as a fully integrated agro-industrial hub, attracting investment, creating jobs, boosting exports, and driving economic growth and development in Gombe State.<\/span><\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t
