Gov Inuwa’s Vision Takes Shape As Gombe L-PRES Opens Bids for Ultra-Modern Abattoir
A few days after unveiling the plan for the ambitious Gombe ultramodern abattoir, the Gombe L-PRES opened bids for its construction in its renewed commitment to boost and modernize livestock processing and marketing in Gombe State.
Speaking during the event, the State Coordinator, Professor Usman Bello Abubakar, reaffirms L-PRES’s commitment to transparency and accountability in all its activities.
He commended the political will and strong support the project has received from the state Governor, which has been instrumental in its remarkable progress.
“We are fortunate to have a Governor with a clear vision and foresight. His consistent support and guidance have been crucial in bringing this project to fruition,” Professor Abubakar stated.
The Coordinator explained that the project was born from Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya’s vision to positively impact the lives of his people and improve their livelihoods.
“Our farmers have faced numerous challenges, often bearing significant risks with limited returns. We recognized the need to transform this sector, modernize our animal product handling practices, and create a sustainable and profitable industry that drives
I’meconomic development,” he elaborated.
Professor Abubakar assured all potential bidders of equal opportunity to participate, noting that even international companies had shown interest in the project despite its national scope.
“On December 19th of last year, we advertised for bids in national dailies such as Vanguard and Blueprint. After a four-week period, ten companies expressed interest, but only seven submitted the necessary documentation on time,” he explained.
The Project Coordinator highlighted that this abattoir will be a pioneering facility in the region, equipped with cutting-edge technology comparable to any world-class facility.
“This state-of-the-art abattoir will not only benefit Gombe State and the Northeast region but also the entire nation. We envision exporting high-quality products produced here to international markets,” he stated.
He announced that after the bidding, the Evaluation Committee would assess all bid documents submitted by participating firms, adhering strictly to the established criteria.
The Committee will then select the winning bid and duly notify all participants, providing clear and transparent reasons for their selection or rejection. The bidders would have a two-week grace period to respond before the finalization of the contract award.
The State Coordinator thanked all bidders for their interest and urged them to accept the evaluation committee’s decision with good faith. He assured them of a transparent and impartial evaluation process in accordance with World Bank procurement standards and guidelines.
In his remarks, the Honourable Commissioner, Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives, Dr. Barnabas Malle who spoke through the Permanent Secretary of the ministry, Muhammad Ibrahim Jalo, commended the transparency of the bidding process, describing it as “open, just, and fair.”
He further praised the L-PRES Project for its dedication to modernizing the livestock subsector in Gombe State, emphasizing that the objectives of the L-PRES perfectly align with the vision of the Inuwa Yahaya administration, which prioritizes peace, improved livelihoods, and enhanced resilience among the people.
He assured the gathering of the state government’s continued commitment to supporting the construction of the ultramodern abattoir and other ambitious projects undertaken by the L-PRES.
Coordinating the bidding process, the Procurement Officer of L-PRES, Usman Bello outlined the evaluation process. He presented the major information of every bidding company before all other contenders.
Responding on behalf of the bidders, Musa Ayuba from Lubell Nigeria Ltd expressed gratitude for the opportunity to participate in the bidding process.
He assured the L-PRES that their companies are committed not only to successfully executing the project but also to contributing meaningfully to the development of the state and the nation.
One of the ten companies that have initially shown interested arrived late, after the bidding process had already commenced. They were disqualified for violating the established bidding procedures.
The seven companies that participated in the bidding were: Nuellika Infinity Ltd from Abuja, Domeshade Reality Ltd from Gombe, ABSHU General Merchandise Ltd from Kano, Mahadi Services and Resources Ltd from Abuja, Triple Tech Consult and Properties Nigeria Ltd from Gombe, Stable Ethics Ltd from Bauchi, and Lubell Nigeria Ltd from Abuja.<\/p><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t
